This came as an unfortunate shock to his family, friends and fans.
Well-respected Vietnamese comedian Le Hong Giang (aka stage name Giang Coi) has just passed away. He is known by the popular TV program titled “Gap Nhau Cuoi Tuan” ( “Weekend Get-Together”). He was not only famous as a comedian but also as an actor through numerous dramas such as “Khi đàn chim trở về”, “Cựu chiến binh”, “Chuyện vặt gia đình”, “Chuyện đời thường”, “Cảnh sát hình sự” and others.

On August 4, Giang Coi’s eldest son broke the news that the actor passed away due to cancer at 10.45pm on Wednesday.
Because of the current serious COVID-19 situation in Vietnam, the funeral could only be organized within the family according to the directives 16 and 17 laid out by the government.

Artist Giang Coi said once: “Live long or short is not important, the importance is how you live.” With his legacy, he will always be fondly remembered.
